Mumbai Indians  beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 46 Runs

RCB won the toss and chose to field

Scorecard
MI                          213/6 in 20 Overs
RCB                       167/8 in 20 Overs
Match Result         MI won by 46 Runs
MOM                     Rohit Sharma(MI) for his 94(52 Balls 4x10 and 6x5)

Mumbai Indians' first win of the season came in an imposing performance that saw them post 213 after being 0 for 2, through powerful performances from Evin Lewis 65(42 Balls 4x6 and 6x5)and Rohit Sharma 94(52 Balls 4x10 and 6x5), before their spinners went against the trend of the game to tie Royal Challengers up in a steep chase.

After outings of 15, 11, 18 in his previous three IPL 2018 matches, Rohit Sharma at last returned to form as he smashed Bangalore bowlers all over the park. The MI captain fell short of a century just by six runs off the fifth ball of the last over, breaking many fans' hearts in the stadium.

Virat Kohli made an unbeaten 92(62 Balls 4x7 and 6x4) but it was a subdued effort for most part. It was another case of Royal Challengers' middle order crumbling under pressure after their bowlers had struggled to keep the runs down, even with the sixth bowling option of Corey Anderson who had been brought in to replace Brendon McCullum

Virat Kohli who scored an unbeaten 92 right at the top of the order was the only major contributor as they tried to chase down the target of 214

Virat Kohli scored more than 55 percent of the runs for his team and face more than half the balls bowled by the opposition too on his way to recording the second highest individual score (92*) of the season so far

RCB may have lost once again after conceding more than 200 runs for the second consecutive game, but Virat  Kohli’s knock means he is now the highest scorer in the ongoing season.

Virat  Kohli has amassed a total of 201 runs in four innings at an average of 67 and a strike rate of 143

Ishan Kishan leaves field with swollen face after Hardik Pandya’s freak throw

Mumbai Indians’ Ishan Kishan was dangerously hit near the right eye during their Indian Premier League match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday April 17,2018

The wicketkeeper-bataman, who fell to the ground after being hit, was immediately taken off field with a swollen face.

The 19-year-old was hit near his right eye in the 13th over of RCB innings when a throw from Hardik Pandya bounced high off the practice pitch.

Ishan Kishan, who was seen writhing in pain while lying on the ground when the MI medical staff attended to him, was bought by MI for Rs. 6.2 crore in the IPL 2018 players’ auction.

Kishan, who has scored 412 runs at an average of 21.68, in his 20-match IPL career, was replaced by Mumbai Ranji captain Aditya Tare, who made his presence felt immediately after stumping Sarfaraz Khan off Mayank Markande.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday April 17,2018 surpassed Chennai Super Kings’ veteran Suresh Raina to become the leading run-scorer in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL

Virat Kohli needed 31 runs to surpass Raina when he opened the innings with Quinton de Kock on Tuesday, and by the end of the contest, he had become the first player ever to score 5,000 or more runs in IPL for any franchise.

Kohli went past Raina’s total of 4,558 runs in IPL history when he reached the score of 32.
Rohit Sharma was the next batsman in the list with 4,345 runs, followed by Gautam Gambhir (4,210) and David Warner (4,014).
